I kinda wish ZX was facing the other way so his head was intact, but I'm sure you had your reasons. Other than that, great!
But then it would all be moving diagonally up to the right and it wouldn't look balanced. Would it? Besides, his head is there.Its just... crumbling.
I like it. When I have "art-blindness" I've found that if you look at your piece through a mirror (or flip the canvas horizontally in Photoshop) its like having a fresh pair of eyes.
I'd prefer it if ZX was more or less vertical and symmetrical, like that initial doodle. Besides, if it were like that it would be blatantly phallic, which I'm pretty sure everyone would be more comfortable with. Maybe my unease is the desired effect, though!
