It's Over

Some years ago I made this comic, ZX, one page at a time, on this blog. A web-comic, as it were. Afterwards, I got it printed in real-life real paper made out of real trees, I got it published, it won an award and I've been told that it had a positive impact on several people. Then I moved on to other endeavours.

Recently I've decided to upload it in cbr and pdf form for posterity, as its print run has long since ran its course. For good measure, I finished up translating the few pages that were in the book but weren't on this blog, so the whole thing is now in english too.

For the English version PDF, click here.

For the English version CBR, here instead.

If instead you're of the Greek persuasion, please don't hesitate to grab the PDF or the CBR

I think this is a more fitting end to this blog than the abrupt fadeaway post below it. If you seek to contact me, I still check blogger periodically, but you'll have better luck hitting me up on facebook.

I'll leave you with a little secret. I'm employed in a different field now and in a different country and I enjoy my life and my work. But I'd still like to make more at least another comic. Don't tell anyone.

Thank you for posting this, gotta love rss and unkempt bookmarks :)

Can't believe it's been over 3 years, I loved reading this blog. I was a poor monolingual teenager at the time so I didn't get a chance to see the finished version. Looking forward to sitting down and giving this a thorough read, maybe even go back and look at some of your posts about it. Wish I could've bought it, I'll just have to get two copies of the next one!

Dear Helm,
last week, after maybe 2 years of not visiting your blog, I felt the sudden urge to give it a shot and see if it's revived or something. What a coincidence! Just a week prior you had posted this.

You probably don't remember me. I had been reading your blog since somewhere in 2009, commented on some of your posts, but not too often. Your work had made a big impact on me. And ever after you finished ZX and said there might be an english printed version of it someday, I was totally looking forward to buying it.

Today I took the time to read through the complete version you just uploaded and it touched me deeply as it did years back when I eagerly waited for the next page to be finished. Many thanks for sharing this! It really made me happy! Since i was not able to buy it and thus give you something back for your effort, I guess I owe you something now.

I'd love to see another comic from you, so I will keep coming back from time to time...
Wish you all the best for now!

setuzuvar, I remember you :)

You don't owe me anything, your comment was enough.

Dear Helm, similar to above readers I've had your blog on rss since a link from RPS many years ago. We exchanged a few comments and I even bought your first collection but missed out on ZX due to life and things. Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the life update also. Stay cool and do update us on any future philosophical/artistic endeavours.

The biggest story about ZX is the story about you Helm. You don't realise how much your story resembles MK Ultra mind control, or how your hero, Alan Moore, is another MK Ultra cyborg. Alan Moore said “I decided I was going to become magician…all of a sudden the lightening bold hit. It all got a bit strange. For a couple of months after that, I was looking back probably in some borderline of schizophrenic state. I was spaced out—godstruck, you babble for a while…Babble like an idiot…I must have been unbearable for two or three months. I’ve integrated that now into the rest of my life.” If you look up Barrie Trower, remote weapons/mind control expert, he says you can induce states indistinguishable from Schizophrenia. Your Vietnam style flashbacks about exams are potentially induced via the LIDA machine, dream manipulation device used by the Soviets in Korea and declassified in the 80s. Your comic plot is about a dude who gets triggered and becomes homicidal. That doesn't sound like mind control to you? The Fight Club reference, Fight club is totally MK Ultra, the first line in the book about "if you die, I live forever" is right out of a leaked Government document on mind control said by subject known as 'candy' (Aquarius Group Operations Briefing). Your plot involves a robot alter which disappears. From psychiatrist treating MK Ultra victims: "They use the metaphor – and it is their metaphor – of robots. It's like a robot shell comes down over the child alter to make them act in robotic fashion. Once in a while internally you'll confront robots .. sk the core to use a laser to vaporize the robot so nothing is left" Your other comic about robot incest I mean as if this isn't Mk Ultra. Let me guess you're into Philip K Dick? He at least got what his problem was when he talked about a satellite beaming info into his head. Even your little quasi cult Pixelation is what the mk ultra dudes make, little cults which i assume serve some mind control experimentation process. Miles Mathis, as another example. Even your stalkers/haters are likely mind control victims, how else who people become obsessed with such a trivial person as you?

Anyway just some background on your life for you dude. Sorry to be the one to tell you you're a guinea pig and people are experimenting on you. Does explain why you went from INTJ to ESFP right, you whole fucking personality inverted. But I'm sure you'll dismiss this as some kind of troll.

No one can be told what the matrix is, they have to find out for themselves. On that note google "the matrix deciphered" by Dr. Robert Duncan. Take care and sleep with your doors deadbolted (well intentioned advice not threat by me).

Please seek psychiatric help, whoever you are.

So you want me to seek help from the people who conducted MK ultra in the first place? Isn't that like asking a rape victim to seek out their rapist for cuddles?

"During the 1950s and 1960s, Cameron became involved in what has later become known as the MKUltra mind control program, which was covertly sponsored by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)[2] and which eventually led to the publication of the KUBARK Counterintelligence Interrogation manual.

Cameron had been hoping to correct schizophrenia by erasing existing memories and reprogramming the psyche. He commuted from Albany to Montreal every week to work at McGill's Allan Memorial Institute and was paid $69,000 from 1957 to 1964 to carry out MKUltra experiments there. In addition to LSD, he experimented with various paralytic drugs and electroconvulsive therapy at thirty to forty times the normal power.[19] His "driving" experiments consisted of putting a subject into a drug-induced coma for weeks at a time (up to three months in one case) while playing tape loops of noise or simple statements. These experiments were typically carried out on patients who had entered the institute for minor problems such as anxiety disorders and postpartum depression; many suffered permanent debilitation after these treatments.[20] Such consequences included incontinence, amnesia, forgetting how to talk, forgetting their parents, and thinking their interrogators were their parents.[21] His work was inspired and paralleled by the British psychiatrist William Sargant, who was also involved with the Intelligence Services and experimented extensively on his patients without their consent, causing similar long-term damage.[22]

Naomi Klein states in her book The Shock Doctrine that Cameron's research and his contribution to MKUltra were not about mind control and brainwashing, but "to design a scientifically based system for extracting information from 'resistant sources.' In other words, torture."

So anyways do you have tinnitus Helm? Chances are you do if you're being mind controlled.
